Hurricane Dolly was a bitch, seriously, we didn't even have light for 2 days...
Posted this in RSB to lazy to write it again
lol
That was ONE big ass, and slow ass hurricane. It took 2 days to become a tropical strom and go to the Mexican mountains. We were without light for 2 days, Dolly mostly knocked Trees and fliped over trailers. Fortanally for us, all that I lost was 2 shingles. But I was pretty lucky, because on Wensday there was a tornado that formed near Los Fresnos. Thank-goodness it went right past us. The Hurricane's strong winds broke my neighbor's car windows. And it was pretty BAD in harligen - They got the EYE, and tons of people were without light.
I was with out light since Wendsday, 6:00AM in the morning. Then Friday at 3:04AM in the morning the light came back on. I was pretty amazed because there were TONS of light posts tilted, and about 2 knocked down near highway 100. Even when we were trying to get a Generator, to get to Pep Boys, we had to go though high water up to the window of the car! On the side of us was a light pole nearly touching the water, but the line was touching.
Dolly pretty much made a mess... in Harligen, some people were without roofs, and huge floodings. We had a little bit of flooding in Los Fresnos but not that much. About 7 inches at the most, but my house was in high land so the water didn't get to touch the pourch. Well im safe now...
And Blaze, if you live in Harligen...how did you get thunderstorms? You guys got the EYE, with tons of rain! There was a coupe of lighting and thunderstorms but that was about it. Where I was I got rain with wind, and about 4 thunderstorms...and in Harligen it was way worse. Do you live like off-course or something? Because that thing was a BIG hurricane. You couldn't have gotten just thunderstorms.
Edit: Port Isablle was the worst in Brownsvile. As there were powerlines on top of the bridge and all that stuff. They were also giving supplies in Schilterban.
