PostSubject: Rules recap   Mon Jun 23, 2008 10:09 pm

I see some people still aren't following the rules, so I'm posting them again. It's advised you read through ALL of this.

Registration
These rules apply to you when you are registering an account at RSUForums before registering you should have a thorough understanding of these rules.

* The details which you provide RSUForums with at registration must be true and kept up to date if changed.

* The email which you use when registering at RSUForums must be a personal email address which you have access to.

* You are not allowed to register more than one account per person.

* Your user name must not be a user name which is intended to be offensive.

Posting and Interaction
These rules apply to the interactivity of RSUForums. This includes but is not limited to creating posts, creating topics, sending private messages, etc.

* When posting a reply to a topic, your post must be relevant to the original post in the topic as well as each reply. It is expected that you read the whole topic before replying.

* When posting a topic, posting a reply to a topic or sending a private message, your post must be respectful of all users and all people. You may not post discriminative content or content that could be considered as racist, sexist, abusive, obscene, slanderous, hateful, threatening, inappropriate or offensive.

* When posting a topic, posting a reply to a topic, sending a private message, posting an image or any other form of media on the forums; your post must be written by you or you must use quotes if you are quoting somebody else or another source.

* When posting a topic, posting a reply to a topic, you must ensure that you are adding to the discussion.

* You must not repeat information already stated in the posts before unless you are elaborating in some way or form.

* When posting a topic, posting a reply to a topic, you must stay within the context of the topic. You must not stray unnecessarily from the central topic of the thread.

* You may not spam the forums in any way. This includes, but is not limited to, spamming through posting a topic, spamming through posting a reply to a topic, spamming through sending a private message and abusing the report post feature.

* You may not post the same topic or reply a topic any more than once. This means you may not repetitively post advertisements for anything, post the same reply to a topic once (please see deleting messages).

* You may not post topics that encourage users to reply with one factual reply as opposed to an opinion or argument to your original post. The exception to this is in such forums where you are allowed to ask for help and the topic is able to be locked once the answer to your question has been answered. This rule applies to, but is not limited to such topics with the title, or similar title, "What's your favorite color?", "What did you eat for dinner last night?", "What song are you listening to right now?".

* When posting a topic, posting a reply to a topic or sending a private message, your post may not encourage chain letters, pyramid schemes, click referrals or contain advertisements for another site.

* You may not post content which may violate applicable laws; doing so will result in further action being taken on your account and possible notification to your Internet service provider.

* You may not post or submit content anywhere which encourages the violation of Runescape's "Rules of Conduct" or is directly related to such violations.

Signatures, Avatars and Personal Information
These rules apply to signatures, avatars and personal information which is able to modified through a users profile.

* Personal information which is made public (such as location, instant messenger details, and more) must be true and must be your details.

* If you choose to have an image which is animated in your signature, the animation must not be distracting from the actual content of your post. This will be judged at moderators discretion.

* Neither your avatar, signature or personal information may contain explicit, obscene, vulgar or otherwise offensive imagery or material.

Scamming
This section is a quick but firm note on scamming. Scamming of any sort is forbidden.

* You may not attempt to scam players in any way through any forms of interaction which RSUForums provides. This includes attempting to: gain members' passwords for Runescape, RSUForums, E-Mail services or anything else; unfairly gain Runescape items from members.

* Attempting to gain someone else's password is illegal. It will result in your RSUForums account being banned and possible further action being taken to notify your Internet Service Provider.

Failure To Obey These Rules
This is a quick section on the consequences that may be applied if a user fails to obey by these rules.

* If RSUForums staff believe you are breaking the rules, they will take appropriate action to correct the situation so that rules are not being broken. This may include a user being warned via private messaging, a user having their account banned and in severe cases a user may have their IP address banned.

* You must accept that the matter of whether a user is breaking the rules is to the discretion of RSUForums staff. If you are unsure of any of the rules you should ask a moderator, administrator or create a topic in an appropriate forum addressing your concern.
